Croydon Aerodrome Plough Lane Site

Two former World War One aerodromes were almagamated as one in March 1920 to form the new London Terminal Aerodrome. It comprised of two adjacent airfields, separated by Plough Lane, Wallington which runs from the top right across to the left in the photo. One site was the former RFC/RAF Station and the other was the National Aircraft Factory aircraft testing facility of Waddon Aerodrome. The level crossing linking the two sites can be seen, as well as the buildings of New Barn Farm.This aerial view was taken in 1921
